RESTON TOWN CENTER 3rd THURSDAY JAZZ: Join Boxwood Winery every 3rd Thursday for Live Jazz in Reston Town Center beginning August 20th from 8-10 pm with Kerensa Gray

August is prime time for city, county and state agricultural fairs! These fun summertime events bring communities together. Farmers markets also are an increasingly popular community gathering spot. So, what would happen if the fair theme was combined with a farmers market? You would get County Fair Time at the USDA Farmers Market at Night on Friday, August 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Washington, D.C., near the National Mall!

Park Hyatt Washington will host the next Park Hyatt Mini-Masters of Food, a seasonal culinary experience for young chefs, on Saturday, August 22 in Blue Duck Tavern. Young rising star chefs over the age of seven are invited to this back-to-school cooking class with Chef de Cuisine Brad Deboy. They will learn about food science and get hands-on experience in the kitchen during the class. The mini chefs will become learn about pickling, fermenting and dry-aging foods and afterwards, Chef Deboy will guide them in how to make their own pickles to take home for sharing with the family. This experience will be priced at $65 per child, all-inclusive. Materials will be provided. 

Each evening from Monday, August 17 to Sunday, August 23, The Partisan is offering a menu of 10 Lambruscos all handpicked by Kroll and available at special pricing. The Lambrusco menu includes light, easy drinking Lambrusco di Sorbara from Donelli, Graspirossa blends like the “Becco Rosso” that are balanced and fruit-forward, as well as, 100% Graspirossa Lambruscos such as Chiarli, Graspirossa "Vigneto Cialdini." To showcase the special pairing abilities of these wines, Lambrusco & Charcuterie Flightsare are available with three, six or ten pairings of wine and charcuterie for $21, $39 and $60, respectively. Kroll will also be on hand at The Partisan Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 PM during the promotion to offer small tastes of Lambrusco and share his passion for a wine that’s reputation has suffered from the all too prevalent sweet version seen stateside.

Cashion's Eat Place is celebrating summer and local seafood with two Whole Rockfish Roasts in August - on Wednesday, August 26 - continuing by request throughout the fall. The family-style feasts will feature whole sustainable rockfish, roasted by Chef and Owner John Manolatos, complete with all the fixins, salad and dessert for only $55. The dinners start at 6:30 p.m. and are limited to 20 guests, so reservations are required.
